POLICIES & GUIDELINES

The following policies and guidelines are established to ensure the responsible use of library resources, services, and facilities by all members.

 

📚 Book Loans

Members may borrow up to 10 books for a period of 5 weeks.

Loans may be renewed up to two (2) times, provided the item has not been reserved by another member.

Renewals may be made through the following channels:

  • Reception Counter
  • Email Request
  • WhatsApp Message
  • Phone Call
  • OPAC System (using Member ID and PIN)

Registered Course Participants

Registered course participants are entitled to borrow up to 20 books for the duration of their course.


 

⚠️ Lost or Damaged Items

Members are responsible for all borrowed materials and library property.

In the event of loss or damage, members may be required to:

  • Replace the item; or
  • Pay the applicable replacement or compensation charges

 

⏰ Overdue Returns

An overdue charge of BND 0.20 per item per day will be imposed for late returns and will continue to accumulate until the borrowed materials are returned.

Members are advised to return or renew borrowed materials before the due date to avoid overdue charges and to return all materials in the same condition as when they were borrowed.


📛 Library Membership Card

Members must immediately report any lost membership card to the library.

In the event of a lost membership card, members are required to lodge a police report, and a copy of the report shall be submitted to the library.

Borrowing privileges will resume upon verification and approval by the library.


🚫 Food and Drinks

To preserve a clean, comfortable, and conducive environment for study and research, food and drinks are not permitted inside the library.

Refreshments are available at the Café located beside the library building.
